I've been a big fan of Webster's Pages from their very first collection and have loved every new collection they've put out since.   Here are the l/o's I sent in as part of my Design Team Application.....

I think one of the things that I love so much about the Webster's Pages collections is the beautiful images on their papers and how they allow for lots of  'fussy cutting' that can be used as embellishments on your pages.  I've worked with so many of the Webster's Pages collections over the years, here are just a few of the layouts I've made with them over the years......

A Little about Myself......
I can say my style of scrapbooking is a mixture of Shabby-chic and Vintage.  I would say I'm a paper, ink and fabric type of scrapper.  I love to do a whole lot of stitching both with machine and handstitching on my layouts.  Lately I'm really loving botanical and vintage style nature (birds, butterflies etc.) images on my layouts.  If I could get only 2 Webster's products to use on a project they would have to be their patterned papers and their awesome trims, the papers allow for so much cut embellishing and the trims are just so beautiful....the fine ribbons and crochetted laces....just love them!  I find inspiration in both the products I use and in the photo's I'm scrapping.  More often than not, the papers I'm working with will inspire the design of the page.  I scrap both in my scraproom/office or sometimes I just spread out all my product on my bed, flick on the TV and start scrapping.  Right now in my scraproom you will find one full wall covered in slatwall and filled with scrap product.....my children's friends ask if they can shop at my 'scrap store'! lol!  I love to use a variety of techniques in my scrapping and I would say my favourite at the moment is creating my own blooms out or cardstock or patterned paper using a Water Distress method  (The blooms in the top layout picture 'Taking a Break' were made using this method).

So enough about me :)   For those of you who don't know me I hope you enjoyed getting a little glimpse into my work and life.  Now for the next place to hop to....... Hop on over the the beautiful blog of Ivana Camdzic an amazing scrapper and fellow Canadian!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sew Dang Cute! Bo Bunny & Dusty Attic!!

I used the wonderful Crazy Love collection to create this page for the Bo Bunny 'Sew Dang Cute' assignment! Well, this was no chore for me....I love to stitch on my pages whether it's machine stitching or handstitching! For this one I mainly did machine stitching, I used 3 different types of stiches, the regular, zig-zag (on the circle design) and a fancy edge stitch (around the outer edges of the pink paper). Don't shy away from trying some of those fun fancy stitches on your sewing maching, just practice a little on a scrap piece of paper to build the confidence to try it on your real page :) ......another TIP: When adding button embellishments to your pages, take the time to actually sew the buttons on, I find it makes a big difference in giving your page a more 'finished' look!....

I added some awesome Dusty Attic chippies to this layout too. I just LOVE the DA butterflies! For this one I simply painted the butterfly with a little white paint and then used some chalk ink to tint the butterfly in random places. Then I coated the whole with with some 'Star Dust' Stickles to give it a whimsical look. I did the same for the DA title chippie.....I just tinted the bottom of the letters with some pink chalk ink and then coated the whole thing with Stickles...

If you'd like to see more 'Sew Dang Cute' projects come have a look at the Bo Bunny Blog today...the rest of the DT girlies made up some awesome projects!!

Thanks!!

NEW Bo Bunny!!!! So Excited to share this!!!.....

Okay, I've just been busting at the seams holding this one in, I've so been wanting to share this with all my blogger friends!! A short while ago I got to have my first peek at the new Bo Bunny collections that will be brought out at the CHA 2011! One of the collections they are putting out is a collection they named 'GABRIELLE'!!! Yes!! they named it after me!!! I almost couldn't bring myself to believe it but they so kindly explained to me how each of the papers were named pertaining to me and my life! It all started out when they were telling us that they were designing the new collections for CHA.....I made a little comment that I'd love to see butterflies in one of the new collections because I just love them so much for scrapping with (lol! you all know me and butterflies by now!) .....A little while later they were giving us hints that YES! indeed! they were going to include butterflies in one of their collections. I was then asked by our super sweet DT coordinator Kris if I would send her some information about myself....things I like to do with my family, quotes I like etc. I started getting a little inkling where this might be going but didn't dare dream it was going to be a reality. I was just GIDDY when I saw the beautiful collection they came out with bearing my name and was so very touched by the names they gave the papers pertaining to me. They named one paper 'promenade' because I told them my family and I loved to go on walks together, they named another 'unwritten' because I had told them I loved the song lyrics from that titled song, they named one of the papers 'fairest' after my two sweet girls, another 'elegance' because that is how they think of my work....and **wiping a tear here** they named another 'Mocha' after my sweet dog that I lost a year ago. I was just so incredibly touched by this beautiful gesture from this wonderful company that I'm so honored to be on the Design Team for.

So without further ado here is a little peek at part of the 'Gabrielle' collection

If you like what you are seeing here, wait until you see all the beautiful extra's that go with this collection!! The stamps, wraps/trims, blooms, stickers, rub-on's, brads.....they are so beautiful!! If you go to the Bo Bunny Blog today and comment on the collection you can have a chance to win some of this beautiful collection! Check out this link ~~> 'GABRIELLE'

And be sure to check out the Bo Bunny Blog each day this week! They will be revealing 4 more collections each day.....they are ALL so awesome!!

THANKS BO BUNNY!!!!!

Dusty Attic Vines....ohhh! Love them!!

As soon as I saw this Dusty Attic vine border (DA0459) it was destined to be a favourite of mine! I've had it in my stash for months now and only yesterday had a chance to pull it out to play! It's so delicate and intricately cut!! But what I really love too is that it has 'give' so you can shape it to a slight curve if you want to! I had envisioned a different l/o for this vine but as usual my work took on a mind of it's own! lol! I also used the little 'Birds on a Branch' chippie (DA0333) to get a nice 'lush' look to the page....I hope :) Here are a few close-up peeks....

The Dusty Attic Design Team girls will be showing how we add different finishes to our chippies at the Ning site each month so be sure to drop by and enjoy some inspiration! This month I shared how I added the finish to my vines. You can find the tips here ~~> Gussy Up Your Vines
I used a mixed bag of goodies for the rest for the page. The Green backing paper is an old one from My Minds Eye (49th Market St) as is the greenish matting paper behind the photo. The creamy background paper is Prima Fairy paper (I forget the name) and the polka green polka dot paper is from Prima's Jack & Jill collection. The blooms are Prima Hydrangea's and the butterflies were cut from a piece of patterned paper from Graphic45 'Le Romantique'.
Pssst!.....I know Evana, our DT coordinator & super talented scrapper has just posted some amazing l/o's ....some of which have some peeks at some new chippies coming out from Dusty Attic.....shhhh! just between us! :)

January REVEAL for My Creative Scrapbook!!

Just a quick note for those of you looking for the Bo Bunny Blog Hop....it's the post right below this one and Yes! it is still going on ....just scroll down a wee bit and you'll find it :) ...I also wanted to take a second to thank all you beautiful ladies for the sweet and kind comments you posted, I read each and everyone and want to say your words mean a lot to me!

Now on to the MCS Reveal!! Yesterday I shared 2 layouts I had made with the January Album kit on the Bo Bunny Blog hop post.....but I waited until today to share the rest of the kit's with you all. I made the above layout with the January Limited Edition kit. This is such an amazing kit....the papers are just so pretty and the embellishments so unique and beautiful!! I just love the sweet vintage style tag sheet she included in this one....I'm just loving bird images lately for my l/o's so this was such a nice addition to the kit! Pam really outdid herself with putting this one together! (To see a full list of the products/manufacturers of the goodies in this kit just click on the picture of the kit when you are at the MCS website and you'll find a full list.....I know that some of you have asked me for the names of the products in my l/o's....you'll find it all at the MCS site :) The photo in the above l/o is one I took of my youngest daughter a couple of years back when we were up North at a resort.....it was twilight and there was such a lovely glow in the sky. For this l/o I did a little machine stitching and handstitching (on the buttons) and to give the page a little 'weathered' look I drybrushed some white paint on it.......the circles are just the edges of my paint cap stamped onto the page. Here are some close-ups.....

I just love those Prima blooms and the creamy Pink Paislee 3D stickers in this kit! For my 2nd layout I went with the soft aqua tones in the kit. Again I did a little machine stitching and also used some of the packaging from the Prima blooms as a decorative element (the white lace transparency)....
I'm just a sucker for those creamy white little buttons she added to the kit.....I feel like they always add just the right finishing touch to a shabby-chic page!....here are some close-up shots...

For my 3rd layout with this kit I snagged some cute shots of my new baby niece Kiera off of my nephew's wife's Facebook....thanks Danielle! I just loved the creamy Prima vine flower that was in this kit and I liked how it looked against the pale pink paper!
Yep, that's a little acorn in her hand! how cute is that shot! I have to smile at how every little thing is an amazing wonder to a little one like that. Here is a close-up shot of the page....

I also made a 4th layout for this kit.....and still had loads of pretty papers and embellishments to play with (I'm going to have to revisit this kit for sure!)

I decided to do a little handstitching on this page rather than using my machine, I wanted the stitches to show up a little thicker. To make the pretty Battenburg lace heart embellisment (also in the kit) show up a little better against the light background I added a piece of pink cardstock behind it. Here are a couple of close-up detail shots of this page....

Another AMAZING kit I got to work with this month was the MCS Main kit.....this one was filled with the Beautiful Sweet Season Collection from Webster's Pages!! I just love how WP papers allow for some intricate detail cutting. There is a really cute paper with a dress form in this collection. Included in the kit there are some really sweet trims and tulle....I used these to dress up the dress-form on the page below.....
The photo is one of my nephew's oldest daughter Jade, she is so cute in her stylish little outfits!TIP: My friend Sandie shared this great tip last month at the MCS site and I gave it a go.....you can use your fancy edge punches on curvy edges.....just punch a straight line, cut the strip about a half centimeter below the punched edge, lightly moisten the strip and give it a little bit of an accordian fold, this will allow you to curve the paper around the edges as I did in the photo above....it worked beautifully! ( I used the Martha Stewart Loopy punch for this one) Here are some close-up pic's.....

For my 2nd l/o in using this kit I used the Webster's die-cut paper and mixed it with some smokey grey cardstock. I did a little handstitching on the paper and some faux stitching with a white gel pen to make the edge design of the die-cut paper stand out more....

TUTORIAL: Sometimes Pam includes these cute stemmed blooms in the kits, this time she included these creamy roses. I decided I would make a floral vine using these blooms and I got my oldest daughter Chloe to take a video clip while I was making it so you all could see how easy it is to do. To watch the video tutorial just click on this link and you'll find my tutorial post ~~> Floral Vines. Here is aclose-up pic from this page....

And Finally a third layout I made using this kit....I went with the aqua colours and went with the 'sweet' theme of the collection. I'd been wanting to scrap this picture of Chloe baking cookies at my sisters house a few years back. I finally found the perfect collection to us for this page! ...

And here is a close-up detail shot of the above page (the red/pink bloom is in the kit but I extended the size of them with some cardstock using the Water Distress method that I shared in a tutorial on the right side of this blog.....
Want to see more inspiration? Check out the Design Team Gallery for this month and you can see all the pretty things the rest of the DT girls have put together! Thanks so much for stopping by again!
